Most of the time, when I help articles instead of tagging them, I like to categorize uncategorized articles. ::::I think it's good to do editing on wikipedia as well as new page patrol. It helps you understand why people get annoyed with taggers - it takes one minute to add a tag, but sometimes an hour's work to fix the problem. It also gives you a feel for what an article ''could'' be, even if it looks rubbish at the moment. Wait.
