The Proton Satria was also released as a sports GTi model, producing a 105kw of power through its Mitsubishi adopted 4g93p engine. This engine was originally found in the Mitsubishi lancer GSR. The Satria GTi is also popular as a tuner car by Malaysian [[street racing|street racers]], just like the [[Proton Wira|Wira]]. It is strongly rivaled by 3-door [[Honda Civic]].
