Originally intended to provide an infrastructure layer for the [[Open Grid Services Architecture\|Open Grid Services Architecture (OGSA)]], OGSI takes the statelessness issues (along with others) into account by essentially extending [[Web services]] to accommodate grid resources that are both transient and stateful.
