Namco x Capcom (ナムコ クロス カプコン) is a turn-based strategy game featuring characters from thegames produced by video game companies Namco and Capcom, and developed by Monolith Soft. The title is pronounced "Namco cross Capcom" in Japanese. The game to date has not been announced for release by either Capcom or Namco outside of Japan. This could be largely due to both companies' international distibution centers not agreeing on who shall profit from the game (This was a problem with Capcom's deal with SNK when they agreed to do the Capcom Vs. SNK series of video games). Another problem with an international release is that most, if not all, of Namco's characters are obscure outside of Japan, with the possible exceptions are the Tekken, Soul Caliber, Klonoa franchises. Another problem the game sees in not having an international release is that the game has a massive ammount of voice acting, which would take a lot of time and money to translate fully, which both companies do not want to waste money on if the game became a critical failure. However, there is also the option of removing the Japanese dialog and include no spoken dialog, which would severely cut localization times in half.

Defense also puts the player in the action-RPG mode, this time blocking to reduce the enemy's damage, and increase the amount of AP they have. There are 50 levels total (45 normal and 5 prologue) and the game will take from around 70-100 hours to complete.

International release issues
So far, neither Capcom nor Namco have announced any plans to release NxC outside of Japan. There is much speculation as to why: Some have speculated that the companies involved can't agree on which would distribute and profit from the game, while others cite the obscurity of many of Namco's included characters, some of whom appear in games that have not seen release outside of Japan.
