IRA, the battle of the bands has seen exponential growth into one of the most popular events at Spring Spree since its inception in 2009. The immortal [[Antakshari]] in various languages has been regularly featured, sometimes as an informal event.

Non-traditional forms of art like sand sculpting, street painting, soap carving, graffiti and junkyard fashion design are highlighted. Chitr, a national level art exhibition features pencil sketches, paintings, cartoons and craft work sent in by students all over India.

Different forms of dance ranging from Indian classical dance forms to B-Boying are staged at Spring Spree in these contests. Competitions in various theatrical forms like mime and one act play are also conducted. Previous editions of Spring Spree have seen the evolution of group dance contests into a full fledged "Choreo Night", held on the big stage in the scale of a "Pronite".

Competitions are also held in Hindi and Telugu. Since 2010, NIT[[Model United Nations|MUN]] has been held as a part of Spring Spree.

Alongside the various competitions, Spring Spree conducts training sessions dealing with a wide variety of interests. Workshops at Spring Spree in the past have included B-Boying/B-Girling Workshop by Zeb.Roc.Ski (a German graffiti and B-Boy artist), graffiti workshop by LOOMIT (among the world's top 10 graffiti artists), photography workshop by celebrity photographer, [http://www.munishkhanna.net/ Munish Khanna] and acting workshop by Lalit Parimoo (renowned for his role as Dr.Jackal in Indian television series [[Shaktimaan]]).
