BabelStone (talk | contribs) update documentation for layout parameter |
||
Line 3:
=== Usage ===
*1st parameter is the Mongolian (Todo, Manchu, Sibe) text to display
*2nd parameter is optional; if it is 'h' then the text is laid out horizontally; if it is any other value (e.g. 'v'), or if it is omitted then the text is laid out horizontally (if the browser supports vertical layout)
=== Examples ===
*<code><nowiki>{{MongolUnicode|ᠮᠣᠩᠭᠣᠯ ᠪᠢᠴᠢᠭ}}</nowiki></code> produces: {{MongolUnicode|ᠮᠣᠩᠭᠣᠯ ᠪᠢᠴᠢᠭ}}
*<code><nowiki>{{MongolUnicode|ᠮᠣᠩᠭᠣᠯ ᠪᠢᠴᠢᠭ|v}}</nowiki></code> produces: {{MongolUnicode|ᠮᠣᠩᠭᠣᠯ ᠪᠢᠴᠢᠭ|v}}
*<code><nowiki>{{MongolUnicode|ᠮᠣᠩᠭᠣᠯ ᠪᠢᠴᠢᠭ|h}}</nowiki></code> produces: {{MongolUnicode|ᠮᠣᠩᠭᠣᠯ ᠪᠢᠴᠢᠭ|h}}
=== Issues ===
Currently only IE8 and above support rendering the text in top-to-bottom, left-to-right format. The browsers Firefox, Chrome, Opera and Safari will render as left-to-right, top-to-bottom. Browsers are awaiting stabilization of the CSS3 specification for this type of rendering. See also
