It seems to me that the scope of this article is methods for numerical calculuation of square roots, and that the sections on continued fractions and Pell's equation do not belong here. On the other hand, the example <math>\sqrt{114}</math> expressed as a periodic continued fraction would be good in the article [[periodic continued fraction]]. Any opposite views? :None from me. In fact, I just made Pell's equation a subsection of the Continued fractions group (it was a separate section) to simplify merging the the whole thing if appropriate. I have also removed one GCF for <math>\sqrt{114}</math> that after more careful analysis proved inappropriate. — [[User:Glenn L|Glenn L]] ([[User talk:Glenn L|talk]]) 02:05, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
