New users might want to add external links to articles. While many people think any link about any article merits inclusion, sadly, that isn't always the case. You can always ask the new user what the URL is that they want to include, which allows you and your fellow Hosts to "be the judge," on whether the URL merits inclusion, or you can provide a simple reply and let them make the decision (a simple form of empowerment!). Remember: if the link isn't worthy of inclusion, another Wikimedian will remove it in the future.

:3. Add your link by typing: *[http://www.wikipedia.org Wikipedia's official website] Instead of using the Wikipedia web address, replace it with the address you want to add. Make sure there is a space, and then replace "Wikipedia's official website," with the name of the website you are adding. Add a "]" after that and then click the "show preview" button towards the bottom.
:4. If your addition looks correct, great work! Simply add in the edit summary "added an external link," and click save!
