The contentious part of Pending changes was the idea that edits on the Encyclopaedia that anyone can edit wouldn't go live until "approved". The uncontentious part was the idea of a more efficient anti-vandalism tool which would enable vandalfighters to check edits that no-one else had checked, rather than to a large extent repeating each others work and having an unknown proportion of vandalism slip through unobserved. So Pending changes should be implemented on all articles, but the software would first be changed so that everyone continues to see the current version of the page. Only Rollbackers, Admins and Reviewers would see a flag showing which edits were not yet checked. I.E. Pending changes becomes an improved anti-vandalism tool that only registered users are aware of the existence of.</div>
