Some popular modern browsers (chrome, firefox) by default will not delete session cookie. This is explained e.g. here: [http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=128513 chrome issue 128513: Wontfix] (Comments 21, 28), and here: [http://blog.tangcs.com/2011/08/11/firefox-doesnot-clear-session-cookies/ Firefox] (Firefox feature "Session Restore").
Should we update this paragraph? `[[User:A5b|a5b]] ([[User talk:A5b|talk]]) 19:59, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
Interesting, from the definition of most recent [http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6265#page-10 RFC 6265], session cookie "expires at the end of the current session (as defined by the user agent)", so there are some grey areas, newer versions of browsers are taking advantage of it, especially Chrome allows you to configure the session definition in user agent, as an option of "Continue where I left off".
