Consumerization of Applications or CoA, is computer software designed to help the user to perform specific tasks that is driven by consumer persona and then spills over into their professional lives, as the line between the personal and the professional is continously blurring
The term was first used by Simran Singh Sachar{{cn|date=October 2012}} while training software vendors and application developers on designing highly immersive enterprise applications
with strong focus on User Interface and Persona and at the same time managing added risk in terms of security, privacy, and compliance. For IT, it’s about striking a balance between user expectations and enterprise requirements.
