A description of the x,y,z Cartesian coordinates of points on the Earth's surface and the methods of conversion of these coordinates to conventional latitude and longitude would add great clarity. Perhaps an image of the Earth's globe should be included. Granted, the IERS webpage is not clear about this but the IERS products are not intended for a general audience.
