Jackson was born to A.D. Jackson (Educator) and Carolyn( Pinson) Jackson (Educator). Coming from a family of educators, growing up was some what strict. But It helped her to become a strong woman. After leaving Greenville in the Summer of 1991. Kenyatta had a dream of going to College. Didn't know for sure what her future career would be, so she lean towards what she loved the most. ART and Music. So, she enrolled at Jackson State University where she was a member of the Sonic Boom of the South (2nd Trumpet Player). She also majored in Art-Concentrating in Graphic Design. Kenyatta was very satisfied with her choice at that time. Kenyatta went on the Graduate from Jackson State Earning a B.A. Degree in Art Concentration in Graphic Design and ceramic arts. Shortly after Graduation she continued on the Graduate school where she would concentrate on secondary Education. But, not really wanting to become a teacher.
