::::::::: The King gave huge tracts of lands in America to governors, lords, and other aristocrats that came over here from England. Much of this land -- this "private property" of these governors, lords, and aristocrats -- was redistributed to The People after the American Revolution. --[[User:Jizzbug|Jizzbug]]

:::::::::: You don't know what private property is. Government-owned property is not private property. Feudalism, and mercantilism, are unrelated to capitalism: in particular, they invest government with ownership of all the land. Under capitalism, I can sell you my land, or I can buy yours. Under feudalism, all property rights reside in government: if I'm a duke, I can shoot you, burn down your house, and plan cucumbers there. No relation. By confusing the two, you really render discussion unintelligible. --Len.
