===Purpose===

This redirect category template ([[WP:RCAT|Rcat]]) automatically sorts redirects into one of two categories:

*If the redirect is in the portal namespace, then this redirect category ([[WP:RCAT|Rcat]]) template populates [[:Category:Redirects to portals]].

*If the redirect is outside the portal namespace, then this Rcat populates [[:Category:Redirects to portal space]]. (for [[WP:CNR|cross-namespace redirects]]) or

* [[:Category:Redirects to portals]] (from a [[WP:Portal namespace|portal]] redirect to a portal page)
