'''Success''': I've managed to add {{tl|Genukiwry}} to my sandbox, using the templatedata - it certainly helps a lot, but I did find a couple of problems which I've reported at [[Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback#Template_parameter_addition_problems]].
