* This is a bit late, but now that we are asking for opinions, I would be remiss not to ping Anomie, MSGJ and Redrose64. — <span style="color: #194D00; font-family: Palatino, Times, serif">Mr. Stradivarius</span> ♪ talk ♪ 03:45, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
::Expecting users to subst: a template that they have previously used without substitution could cause resentment at the change to an established practice. My comments at Template talk:EP#s, t, and u outputs don't make a lot of sense to me... also apply here. For a template to display the current protection level whilst an edit request is open has its merits; but once the request is closed (whether done, not done, or otherwise), the displayed message should not change again. --<span style="color:#a80000; background:#ffeeee; text-decoration:inherit">Red</span>rose64 (talk) 13:18, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
