The Council became the [IEEE Technology Engineering and Management Society (TEMS)] as of 01 January, 2015.
== History ==
The Professional Group on Engineering Management was established under the [[Institute of Radio Engineers]] in 1951. This Group became the Engineering Management Society (EMS) of the IEEE in 1955. In 2007 the EMS became the IEEE Technology Management Council (TMC).
On 24 June, 2014, IEEE Board of Directors approved the transition of TMC to the Technology Engineering and Management Society (TEMS) effective from 01 January, 2015.

Furthermore, IEEE TEMS is establishing Technical Committees dealing with the major management issues, beginning with the following topics: Innovation, Project Management, Strategic Technology Management, Management Communication, Entrepreneurship, Decision Making, and Managing Technical Professionals. Other topics will be selected as the need requires. This group of volunteers is responsible for promoting TEMS’s publications and conferences, identifying Distinguished Lecturers, and supporting other TEMS activities.
