::Likewise I am fascinated by east Asian traditional medicine and potential that (other) practices may hold. I am also fascinated by pseudosciences of all descriptions, and the psychology of those involved. [[User:Jefffire|Jefffire]] 12:23, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

::Fire Star you say ''"Particularly, reiki offers promises of "mastery" and miraculous cures for big piles of money..."''. I don't know who you got that from, but it just aint Reiki. Sounds like you got it from someone who has done Reiki but still has not dealt with their own ego. The use of "Master" as a title for someone who is able to attune others to Reiki is not Master in the sense of someone who demands undying respect and control over others. Many Reiki Masters do not in fact like to use the term Master for themselves for this very reason, and instead use Japanese terms such Shinpiden (or other names) to indicate the stage that they have reached within Reiki without ego.

:: ''"And nothing whatever to do with waving my arms in secret patterns or channeling Japanese ghosts''.". As previously mentioned, there's nothing secret about the symbols. They are sacred, but easily available in books and on the internet. As for "''Ghosts''" hmmm, now that IS taking one specific translation of "Rei" to the extreme. Reiki is not about channelling ghosts, but about channelling universal energy through our own energy body. You must surely believe that our energy body exists, for even modern medical science knows that.

:: ''"Reiki says that if you pay enough money you will be master of something they can't tell you about until you spend the money.''". A totally unfounded statement to make. Again, this is not Reiki. What do you want to know about Reiki? I'll tell you and it won't cost a penny/cent? --GC [[User:213.38.92.242|213.38.92.242]] 13:15, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
