In the spirit of NPOV, it would be nice to link to a way to disable these modal dialogs and turn this feature into a less aggressive image viewer... <small>—Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.127.9.74 (talk) 08:11, 9 April 2008 (UTC)</small><!-- Template:UnsignedIP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->
:A bit late, but you can use Inspect Element in Chrome, or equivalent in another browser, and just delete the node. Some sites are more annoying though and disable scrolling. NoScript lets you block not just the entire site but the specific script, as do most ad blockers. A nice plugin would be one that detects the most common overlays ('modal lightboxes') and removes it by default. :Added 2 methods of removing the code that enables the modal overlay. Provided references so someone doesn't pull the "original research" rule-lawyer metagame to remove content they don't agree with. I'm cynical enough to think that unless I provide 10 references anyone can pull off of Google, that it'll get deleted for "reliable source" or "primary source" (Adblock Plus's own site mentions how to block elements). Hate to sound bitter but it seems like an epidemic of people removing factual information they don't like/agree with.
