In addition, programs that run only on Windows PCs will be called 'Windows desktop applications'". It also says that Windows as changed what it calls things a number of times, so while what you said may have been true at one point, we have to go with what the source says. You're version may or may not be true now, I have no idea because you're not providing a source.
