This was merged into context since it had that merge tag for awhile and nobody objected. No automatic reverting please.

Whenever you are discussing something, it is always a good idea to explain your views. Reaching a consensus is often an important process in many parts of Wikipedia and it is always beneficial to explain why you feel a certain way. It is not beneficial for you to voice an opinion on something and not explain why. Often someone will just ask for you to explain a point anyways.

Explaining your views '''makes you more convincing''' and helps reach a more sound consensus in less time. If you are a new user it will especially help as more people will take your views as good-faith and be less be suspicious of [[Internet troll|trolling]], [[Wikipedia:Sock puppetry|sock puppetry]] or an ulterior motive.
