To whom it may concern (at Wikipedia),

Back in the late 1970's I read about two sorting algorithms that are not mentioned at all in this "Sorting algorithm" article. They are Quickersort and Quickestsort. At that time: Quickersort was the latest published improvement of Quicksort; and Quickestsort was the fastest sorting method possible theoretically and (its algorithm was) a trade secret of the U.S.A. Federal Government. If anyone knows more (history) about this, please add it to this "Sorting algorithm" article. Quicksort and Quickersort were written about in the book: "Sorting and Sort Systems" by Harold Lorin, {{ISBN |0-201-14453-0}}, Copyright © 1975 by Addison-Wesley Publishing Company, Inc., part of "The Systems Programming Series" [book #4 of 4]. I don't remember where I read about Quickestsort. I thought it was in that book, but it is not listed in the index.

Sincerely yours,
