Il Regno dei Paesi Bassi è membro dell'[[Unione Europea]]. However Antilles and Aruba are not considered part of the EU, but rather have the status of [[Special member state territories and their relations with the EU|OCTs]] (overseas countries and territories; in [[lingua olandesenederlandese|olandesenederlandese]] LGO's, ''landen en gebiedsdelen overzee''). Since citizenship is handled by the kingdom, and not distinguished for the three countries, citizens from all three countries are also EU citizens.
