Over the time Cuneiform has been maintained, the implementation language switched from Java to Erlang in April 2016 and the distribution platform changed from a [[Apache Hadoop|Hadoop]]-based execution environment to distributed Erlang. Additionally, from 2015 to 2018 [[HTCondor]] had been maintained as an alternative execution platform.
