See the IPA transcription, there're a dot indicating that "d" and "s" belong to 2 different syllables.<br />2. See [[:nl:Botic van de Zandschulp|nl:"Botic van de Zandschulp"]]. It says [ˈbo.tɪk], "o" is not long. (Yes, the stressed vowel is always longer than the corresponding unstressed sound. And in Dutch the vowel in an open syllable is longer than the vowel in a closed syllable.
