The village runs along the length of the seashore, and looks across to [[Hythe, Hampshire|Hythe]] and [[Calshot]]. While large enough to have a [[Netley railway station|railway station]], Netley has a community feel. There are two schools linked to each other, called Netley Abbey Infant School and Netley Abbey Junior School.
Popular residents include James Franklin, Kenny Harris, and Haydn Sims, who are always about doing things no one really cares about, may it involve running into bushes, or other stuff. Damn you Jack Smith.
