Hello guys, looking for particular reviews from some old game magazines. I have articles about those games in Russian Wikipedia, which I want to improve further. There's no point in asking there, no one from Russian Wikipedia posseses these magazines. And of course we don't have libraries with such magazines in Russia. Hoping to find some luck here.

Thanks, [[User:Coolak|Coolak]] ([[User talk:Coolak|talk]]) 06:17, 2 August 2019 (UTC)
: {{ping|Coolak|p=}}, might want to try asking at [[WT:VG]] too <span style="background:#F3F3F3; padding:3px 9px 4px">[[User talk:Czar|<span style='font:bold small-caps 1.2em sans-serif;color:#871E8D'>czar</span>]]</span> 16:24, 24 August 2019 (UTC)

:::{{Re|Coolak}} An update on the progress of this request: my librarians say they have not been able to find a lender for these magazines; I'm not sure what kind of lender they mean by that statement, as they indicated that the next step would be to ask archives in the UK, which I have asked that they do. They didn't give any strong indication, but it sounds like they aren't particularly confident they'll be able to find all of these artices; whatever they do find will probably take three or four weeks for them to arrive. <span style="white-space: nowrap;">—[[User:Compassionate727|Compassionate727]]&nbsp;([[User talk:Compassionate727|T]]·[[Special:Contributions/Compassionate727|C]])</span> 18:45, 31 October 2019 (UTC)

== 1914 Daily Mail reference for 2nd Boer War ==
{{tl|stale}}
Tidying up references, and this one is missing an article title or similar. www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk returns snippets based on searches, but restricts full view.

I've tried various searches ([https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/search/results/1914-11-16/1914-11-16?basicsearch=roberts&exactsearch=true&contenttype=article&retrievecountrycounts=false&newspapertitle=hull%20daily%20mail&sortorder=2 like this]) but have not found anything related to the citation.

Could anyone provide or fix?

:: {{re|Pajz|Compassionate727|Quuux}} I can't attest to the validity of information in newspaper back in 1914, but I should point out that [[WP:DAILYMAIL|there was an RfC on using Daily Mail as reference]] and concluded that it should generally not be used as a source on Wikipedia. [[User:OhanaUnited|<b style="color: #0000FF;">OhanaUnited</b>]][[User talk:OhanaUnited|<b style="color: green;">Talk page</b>]] 01:36, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
:::{{re|Quuux|OhanaUnited}} The RfC closure acknowledges that {{tq|"the Daily Mail may have been more reliable historically"}}, so I think we're to use our best judgement on this one. (Unfortunately, we can't form a judgement without the actual source!) The original citation employed this syntax: <code><nowiki>{{Daily Mail|issue=5810|supp=|startpage=4|date=16 November 1914|issn = 0307-7578}}</nowiki></code>; [[Template:Daily Mail]] is redlinked. When I check the page logs, I see nothing, which would suggest that this template never existed, but it would be ''highly'' unusual for an erroneous link to a template that never existed to have an empty parameter, as this happens when someone copies and pastes the skeleton parameters from the template's documentation. {{re|Jo-Jo Eumerus}} would you check whether or not this page ever existed, and if it did, paste the last stable version into [[User:Compassionate727/sandbox|my sandbox]]? There's a slim chance I'll able to glean some of the missing bibliographic info from the template's code. <span style="white-space: nowrap;">—[[User:Compassionate727|Compassionate727]]&nbsp;([[User talk:Compassionate727|T]]·[[Special:Contributions/Compassionate727|C]])</span> 17:34, 4 October 2019 (UTC)
::::Checked and didn't find anything. [[User:Jo-Jo Eumerus|Jo-Jo Eumerus]] ([[User talk:Jo-Jo Eumerus|talk]], [[Special:CentralAuth/Jo-Jo Eumerus|contributions]]) 18:51, 4 October 2019 (UTC)
:::::Well, that leaves us back at square one. Because it doesn't look like we're going to be able to fix the citation ''or'' verify that the source is reliable, I think the play is to remove it, which I have done for now. I'll leave this open though in case anyone does find it. <span style="white-space: nowrap;">—[[User:Compassionate727|Compassionate727]]&nbsp;([[User talk:Compassionate727|T]]·[[Special:Contributions/Compassionate727|C]])</span> 21:10, 5 October 2019 (UTC)

== Armenia between Byzantium and the Sasanians ==

Could I get some goodies from "Armenia between Byzantium and the Sasanians" by Nina Garsoïan? I'm unable to find much about this book on the internet, let alone its sections, so can't point out what specific sections I would like unfortunately. Anyways, since this is quite the seminal work, if as much material from this book can be provided as possible (starting from page 1 that is), then that would be fantastic. --[[User:HistoryofIran|HistoryofIran]] ([[User talk:HistoryofIran|talk]]) 04:55, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
:{{re|HistoryofIran}} Do you have nothing except a title and an author? That's going to make finding this difficult: literally anything else you can provide would be helpful. <span style="white-space: nowrap;">—[[User:Compassionate727|Compassionate727]]&nbsp;([[User talk:Compassionate727|T]]·[[Special:Contributions/Compassionate727|C]])</span> 18:14, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
:{{oclc|493646768}} It appears that the book is a collection of 12 essays by Garsoïan (in English and French) which had previously been printed elsewhere: see for example the five listed in [https://books.google.com/books?id=paowDwAAQBAJ&pg=PA420 this] other book's bibliography. Thanks, [[User:SusunW|SusunW]] ([[User talk:SusunW|talk]]) 20:55, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
:{{u|SusunW}}, I don't have that article but I do have [https://www-jstor-org.proxy.swarthmore.edu/stable/44147300?seq=1#metadata_info_tab_contents this one], would that be helpful? <span style="background:Black;padding:1px 5px">[[User:Buidhe|<b style="color: White">b</b>]][[User talk:Buidhe|<b style="color: White">uidh</b>]][[Special:Contributions/Buidhe|<b style="color: White">e</b>]]</span> 21:29, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
::{{u|Buidhe}} I can't see that article, so I have no idea. At this point, anything that is a RS will help. The article is weird ...it has search engine data pasted all through it. While working on another article, I ran across it, and it needs some help. So, if you can send anything, I'll be happy to review it. [[User:SusunW|SusunW]] ([[User talk:SusunW|talk]]) 21:55, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
:::{{u|SusunW}}, The title of the article is THE ROLE OF ANNIE MASCARENE, THE FREEDOM FIGHTER IN THE TRAVANCORE PRINCELY STATE. Please email for a pdf. <span style="background:Black;padding:1px 5px">[[User:Buidhe|<b style="color: White">b</b>]][[User talk:Buidhe|<b style="color: White">uidh</b>]][[Special:Contributions/Buidhe|<b style="color: White">e</b>]]</span> 22:07, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
::::Thanks {{u|Buidhe}} that helped a lot. Found a couple other sources, deleted the huge copyio added in 2018 and all the weird search engine language. There was enough data in your source, salvageable from the existing article, and from a couple of other sources to rework the article, so I'm going to mark this {{tl|Resolved}}.
