:Don't worry, it is not being ignored. In fact it was I who added most of the content of the octocthorp section, including the mention of the Merriam-Wester Book of Word Histories 1991 article. You should read that one. Maybe I'll add a quote from it. I also an in contact with two of the guys that have written up their claims for having originated the term when at AT&T: Doug Kerr and Lauren Asplund; I need to write up a bit about the latter now that he has sent me his evidence, which doesn't actually say much.
