== Clarification on Intel core revisions versus actual new architectures ==
The articles on Intel chips from about 2008 onward are a clusterf**k of misinformation. Microarchitectures are big families of similar designs. Netburst, for example, is a microarchitecture that includes the Willamette, Northwood, Prescott, and Cedar Mill cores. AMD's Bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller, and Excavator chips are all the same microarchitecture. But the articles on Intel chips from ~2008 onward seem to be written by Intel fanboys who erroneously refer to every single tick and tock as a "new architecture" in an attempt to exaggerate the technological progress that Intel has been making. Can we please clean this crap up and clarify which chips are actually new clean-sheet designs and which are just enhancements of previous designs?
