'''Digital Opportunity index (DOI)''' is an indicator of a nation's information and communication technology (ICT) capability, developed by the [[International Telecommunication Union]] (ITU), an agency of the [[United Nations]] (UN). DOI is a derived from a composite analysis of eleven key ICT indicators, including access to [[broadband]], access to telecommunications and access to the Internet, and can be used to analyze the [[digital divide]] between nations. It was developed in response to requests from the [[WSIS]] process.
The DOI has an approximately linear relationship with the [[Human Development Index]], a key indicator used by the UN in comparing national well-being.
