I think the comma in the first sentence is correct, since Camellia sinensis is ''the'' tea plant, whereas writing {{tq|Herbal teas are not made from the leaves of the tea plant Camellia sinensis}} would imply that Camellia sinensis is only one of a number of possible tea plants.
