In un Hell in a Cell match arbitrato da Shawn Michaels, il match, venduto come "la fine di un'era", è iniziato con una rissa dentro e fuori dal ring. Successivamente, con i gradoni d'acciaio sul ring, Triple H ha eseguito una ''[[spinebuster]]'' su Undertaker, che lo ha poi intrappolato nella ''Hell's Gate'', ribaltata da Triple H quando lo ha sollevato e sbattuto sui gradoni. Il match è stato pieno di colpi con oggetti contundenti, incluse sedici consecutive sediate da parte di Triple H, seguite da un colpo alla testa con lo ''sledgehammer'', tutto mentre Undertaker diceva a Micheals di non fermare il match. Dopo essere stato attaccato da Micheals, Undertaker lo ha intrappolato nella ''Hell's Gate'', facendolo svenire. L'arbitro di rimpiazzo, [[Charles Robinson (arbitro)|Charles Robinson]], è corso sul ring dopo che Undertaker aveva eseguito una ''ChokelsamChokeslam'' su Triple H, ma il conteggio si è arrestato al conto di due ed è stato poi l'arbitro stesso a subire una ''Chokeslam''. Michaels si è ripreso e ha colpito Undertaker con la ''Sweet Chin Music'' seguita dal ''[[Facebuster#Double underhook facebuster|Pedigree]]'' di Triple H, ma ciò non è stato abbastanza per il conto di tre. Entrambi i wrestler hanno eseguito le loro mosse finali per delle ''[[Terminologia del wrestling#Near-fall|near-fall]]'', con Undertaker che ha poi eseguito la sua serie di sediate per un altro conto di due.
