"White Lilies Island" by Natalie Imbruglia wasn't the first copy-protected CD in 2001. The Phillip Boa And The Voodooclub album "My Private War" was released earlier (2000) and was the first copy protected CD ever in Germany (and perhaps even worldwide): https://www.discogs.com/Phillip-Boa-The-Voodooclub-My-Private-War/release/530530
I can confirm that Avex trax is using this copy protection as well. Early CDs could still be ripped by standard media players, but later ones appear to be immune to ripping by conventional means. -- [[Question2]]
