Because, I'm pretty doubtful that they'd change the international standard for something and only announce that new standard in one single book, but fail to update their websites to account for said update. Actually, come to think of it, since that book came out in 1964 (before the Internet), and the current standard displayed on the NIST website is different, wouldn't that mean that the definition given in that book is outdated? Unless the NIST stopped being the international standard some time between 1966 and whenever they got a website, how is this even up for debate?
