He has a [[Bachelor of Science|B.Sc.]] in [[electronics]] from [[University of Portsmouth|Portsmouth Polytechnic]] and joined [[Marconi Electronic Systems|Marconi]], where he worked on high-powered projects, such as satellite technology.
