Cyber Sunday (2008) è stata la quinta ed ultima edizione dell'omonimo pay-per-view prodotto dalla World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). L'evento si è svolto il 26 ottobre 2008 all'US Airways Center di Phoenix (Arizona).
Antefatto
La particolarità di Cyber Sunday fu, come il suo predecessore Taboo Tuesday, che gli spettatori da casa potevano votare online sul sito della WWE i wrestler, le stipulazioni o i titoli per gli incontri della card.
A No Mercy, Chris Jericho difese con successo il World Heavyweight Championship contro Shawn Michaels in un Ladder match; mentre Batista sconfisse John "Bradshaw" Layfield per diventare il primo sfidante al titolo di Jericho. Nella puntata di Raw del 6 ottobre, il general manager Mike Adamle annunciò che Jericho avrebbe dunque difeso il World Heavyweight Championship contro Batista a Cyber Sunday. Adamle annunciò, inoltre, che i fan da casa avrebbero scelto l'arbitro speciale dell'incontro di Cyber Sunday tra Jericho e Batista e i tre candidati furono Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels e Stone Cold Steve Austin.
A No Mercy, Triple H sconfisse Jeff Hardy per mantenere il WWE Championship. Nella puntata di SmackDown del 10 ottobre venne annunciato che l'ipotetico avversario del WWE Champion Triple H per Cyber Sunday sarebbe stato scelto dai fan da casa. La scelta degli spettatori poteva ricadere su uno tra Jeff Hardy o Vladimir Kozlov oppure su un Triple Threat match, in cui Triple H avrebbe dovuto difendere il titolo contro entrambi.
A No Mercy, Matt Hardy sconfisse Mark Henry per mantenere l'ECW Championship. Nella puntata della ECW del 14 ottobre venne annunciato che l'ipotetico avversario dell'ECW Champion Matt Hardy per Cyber Sunday sarebbe stato scelto dai fan da casa. La scelta degli spettatori poteva ricadere su uno tra Mark Henry, Evan Bourne o Finlay.
Ad Unforgiven, Big Show effettuò un turn heel attaccando The Undertaker per salvare la general manager di SmackDown Vickie Guerrero. Dato ciò, Big Show e The Undertaker si affrontarono a No Mercy, dove Big Show prevalse sconfiggendo il Deadman per KO tecnico. Nella puntata di SmackDown del 10 ottobre venne annunciato che Big Show e The Undertaker si sarebbero riaffrontati a Cyber Sunday in un match scelto dai fan da casa. Tale scelta poteva ricadere su un Knockout match, un "I Quit" match o un Last Man Standing match.
A No Mercy, Rey Mysterio sconfisse Kane per squalifica in un Mask match, evitando quindi lo smascheramento pubblico. Venne dunque annunciato che Kane e Mysterio si sarebbero riaffrontati a Cyber Sunday in un match scelto dai fan da casa e tale scelta poteva ricadere su un No Holds Barred match, un Falls Count Anywhere match oppure un 2-out-of-3 Falls match.
Per Cyber Sunday venne inoltre annunciato che Santino Marella avrebbe difeso l'Intercontinental Championship contro un Intercontinental Champion del passato scelto dai fan da casa. Tale scelta poteva ricadere su uno tra Goldust, Roddy Piper o The Honky Tonk Man.
