This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Central and Adams (talk | contribs) at 18:31, 26 July 2023 (I can't imagine why you think this is better than just saying it's used to write characters from the Greek alphabet. The Greek language doesn't require the Greek alphabet. This code page supplies characters which can be used for any purpose, and my original statement is not wrong even if it's true that it's only used to write the Greek language. You made up a complex and basically unsourceable claim in favor of a simple prima facie true one, but whatever...). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Code page 869 (CCSID 869) (CP 869, IBM 869, OEM 869) is a code page used under DOS to write Greek[2][citation needed] and may also be used to get Greek letters for other uses such as math.[citation needed] It is also called DOS Greek 2.[3] It was designed to include all characters from ISO 8859-7.

CCSID 9061 added the euro symbol at code point 87hex.[4]
