Michael Seaver

Michael Seaver (born 1967) is a writer and musician in Ireland. He is both dance critic with The Irish Times and principal clarinettist with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. In 2004 he received a New York Times / NEA fellowship for his dance writing and was scholar-in-residence at the 2005 Bates Dance Festival.

His writings cover Irish physical culture in all its forms and how images of and attitudes to the body have changed within Irish society. These include Questions on Obedient Art and Stepping into Footprints: The Glocalization of Irish Dance.
