Brookfield Zoo Chicago

The Brookfield Zoo is a zoo located in the Chicago suburb of Brookfield. The zoo covers an area of 200 acres (809,000 m²). The Brookfield zoo is home to 400 species of animals.

This zoo was the home of Ziggy, a 6.5 ton elephant, who was chained indoors for over 30 years, and unchained July 4, 1973.
