Basile Ikouébé is the current Minister of Foreign Affairs and La Francophonie of the Republic of the Congo. He was named to the position on 31 May 2007, replacing Rodolphe Adada. Previously, Ikouébé was Permanent Representative of the Republic of the Congo to the United Nations. He is a member of the ruling Congolese Labour Party.[1]
As Permanent Representative to the UN, he served as President of the United Nations Security Council in May 2006.[2]
