Antefatti e pubblicazione
Dopo la pubblicazione del suo quindicesimo album in studio Caution (2018), la Carey ha pubblicato varie edizioni speciali celebrative dei suoi album precedenti.[2] Nel novembre 2023 ha rivelato a Entertainment Tonight di essere al lavoro su un nuovo disco, con circa dieci brani già pronti.[3] L’artista ha sottolineato che l’album avrebbe riflesso il suo percorso personale, in particolare quello dell’ultimo decennio, descrivendolo come un progetto dal carattere “estivo”.[3] Nel giugno 2025 ha pubblicato il singolo apripista Type Dangerous,[4] seguito un mese dopo dal secondo estratto Sugar Sweet.[5]
Il 20 luglio 2025 Carey ha diffuso, sui propri canali social, un montaggio di 37 secondi dedicato alla sua discografia.[6] Il giorno successivo ha svelato la copertina dell’album tramite un breve video teaser in cui appare camminando su tacchi a spillo, prima di intonare un frammento del brano eponimo.[7] In una conversazione con la cantante statunitense SZA per Apple Music, la Carey ha discusso del processo creativo alla base del progetto, spiegando di aver scelto Here for It All come brano e titolo dell’album già nelle prime fasi di lavorazione. Ha precisato che la scelta e la collocazione del brano in chiusura fossero intenzionali, pensate per dare una conclusione appagante al disco.[8]
L’album, il primo pubblicato da Carey attraverso l’etichetta Gamma, è uscito il 26 settembre 2025.[9] Si tratta della sua terza collaborazione con L.A. Reid come produttore esecutivo,[10] e include partecipazioni di Shenseea, Kehlani, Anderson .Paak e delle Clark Sisters.[11][12]
