Configurable Network Computing

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by SimonATL (talk | contribs) at 22:38, 8 August 2007 (rewrite to explain terms - will add links to systems). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Configurable Network Computing or CNC refers to the specialized architecture of the JDEdwards Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP system (purchased by PeopleSoft, which was, in turn, purchased by Oracle). In this specialized architecture, a company's JDEdwards business applications run in such as way as to be transparently insulated from both the database where the business data is stored as well as from the client computer's underlying operating system. Systems analysts that work in this field are also called CNCs.
