Template "fn/fnb"

Examples:

Properties (as of 18:12, Jun 8, 2005 (UTC):

  • Note indicator for "text" template:
  • superscripted
  • normal sized text
  • links to associated note
  • Note indicator for "note" template
"Note" appended to the front of parmameter entered
  • Italic
  • Links to associated text

Issues:

  1. "Note indicator" used in templates do not match in style and content.
  2. In this case, bullet points serve no use (other than to create a new line), are visually distracting and need to be manually entered.
  3. Lableing each note with "Note…" is not common practice and serves no apparent purpose.
  4. Requires some manually entered markup for each note to appear on a new line.
  5. Requires manual numbering, If sequentially numberd notes are desired

Note: No articles currently (as of 18:12, Jun 8, 2005 (UTC)) use these templates.

Templates "ref/note"

Examples:

  • Note indicator for "text" template:
  • superscripted
  • bracketed
  • small text
  • links to associated note
  • Includes an autogenerated sequential number.
  • Note indicator for "note" template
  • autogenerated number via numbered list markup "#"
  • Normal sized text
  • Links to associated text
  • generates a "^" which is used to link to the associated text
  • "Note template:
  • requires some manually entered markup for each note to appear on a new line.
  • Issues:
  1. "Note indicator" used in templates do not match in style and content.
  2. autogenerated numbers will fail to match properly if an external link is used in text.
  3. autogenerated numbers will fail to match properly if an "ref" or "note" is deleted with out deleting the associated template instance.
  4. requires some manually entered markup for each note to appear on a new line.

A bunch of nonsense text

This is just a bunch of blathering text to push the "note sections" below off the first page to test the semantic links.

Notes (fnb)

  • Template:Fnb Note 1: The "fnb" template expects that each occurence will be preceded by a "*" to create a bulleted list, otherwise all the notes will appear in one paragraph, like Note 3, and 4 below.
  • Template:Fnb Note 2 text.

Template:Fnb Note 3 text. Template:Fnb Note 4 text.

Notes (note)

  1. ^ Note 1: The "note" template expects that each occurence will be preceded by a "#" to create a numbered list, which will match the numbers generated by the "ref" template. If not included all the notes will appear in one paragraph, like Note 3, and 4 below.
  2. ^ Note 2 text.

^ Note 3 text. ^ Note 4 text.

Notes (ent)

Template:Ent Note 1 text. Template:Ent Note 2 text.
