Marsiling Secondary School, (abbreviated as MSL) is one of the many neighbourhood schools in Singapore, founded in 2000. Located in Marsiling Road, the school was previously operating under the premises of Woodgrove Secondary School from 2000 to late 2001, due to prolonged delay in construction of the Marsiling campus when the company dealing with the construction collapsed in mid-2000. A young school, yet Marsiling Secondary School had been home to many of the "first" in Singapore. Marsiling is also the name of the estate within the Sembawang GRC.

Founding

While the country is preparing to usher in the new millennium, Marsiling is facing acute problem from migration of students to neighbourhood schools in the more developed Woodlands, while schools within the Marsiling area had shown decline in students and academic achievements. In 1999, the first principal of Marsiling Secondary School was called upon to enter discussion of opening a new school in Marsiling, christened Marsiling Secondary School.

Early Stages of Founding

Land acquisition works begin shortly after the decision to establish the school, along with much new project such as Woodgrove Secondary School and Evergreen Secondary School, both within the Woodlands area.
