Whiteout, a UK rock group from Greenock in western Scotland, were active during the 1990s signed to the Silvertone label. Their principal recordings were the LPs "Bite It" and "Big Wow". Their music, influenced by the Country Rock and Glam Rock of the early 1970s, is often compared to that of the Faces. They achieved minor success during the Britpop era in the UK, sharing the bill with the Manchester Group Oasis on their initial tours and making a number of TV appearances aswell as having a significant following in Japan. Although the band split in the late 1990s and were largely forgotten by the music media; their recordings have achieved minor cult status.
