Awkward Thought are a New York Hardcore Punk band formed in the 1990's. Now considered a classic NYHC band.
After numerous compilation appearences and two demo tapes Awkward Thought released their first full length CD/LP titled "Mayday" on Blackout Records in USA in the year 2000. It also came out the same year on CD only (no vinyl) on I Scream Records in Europe. Awkward Thought did a Full coast to coast USA tour in the summer of 2000.
In 2001 Awkward Thought released a CDEP titled "Fear Not" on Grapes of Wrath Records. Grapes of Wrath is a division of Coretex Records which is based in Berlin Germany. Awkward Thought toured Europe in the summer of 2001.
The summer of 2002 saw Awkward Thought do a full UK tour.
Also in 2002 Awkward Thought released their second full length CD titled "Ruin A Good Time" on I Scream Records in Europe. Awkward Though then toured Europe in the fall of 2002. The "Ruin A Good Time" CD was released in the USA in 2003 on Thorp Records. The European CD and the American CD had different artwork and layout.
As of 2005 Awkward Thought still exist and play shows.
