Structured interviewing is a quantitative research method commonly employed in survey research. Also refered to as standardised interviewing, the aim of this approach is to ensure that each interviewee is presented with exactly the same questions and this ensures that answers can be reliably aggregated.

Structured interviews are essentially statistical surveys, where the survey is delivered by an interviewer rather than being self-administered. Interviewers read the questions exactly as they appear on the survey questionnaire and answers to questions are often fixed in advance.
