Sonatane Tuʻa Taumoepeau-Tupou

Sonatane Tu'alakamolahi Taumopeau Tupou is a diplomat from Tonga. He has been the foreign minister of Tonga since August 24 2004, though his appointment was not announced until September 2 2004. He had previously been the ambassador to the United States, the United Nations and Canada. He has also been acting defence minister of Tonga since April 22 2005, having taken that position a week after the previous defense minister died.
