Community and activist engagement and development

We recruited volunteers using our recruitment tool. But the usage in 2024 was limited because of technical problems.

The distribution of organizational roles continued to be insufficient. Appointments continued to be a problem, mainly for the Board and the Audit Committee (Revezia Komisiono). More work on this was planned to be done during the creation of the strategic plan, which itself was again postponed.

A membership recruitment campaign was not carried out. The reason was the need for better preparation - getting to know our members and community members better (this is planned to be done as part of creating the strategic plan), the need for improvements to the workflow of our membership tool and marketing funnel (to be done with the help of an invited expert thanks to Erasmus+) and the over-preoccupation of the person in charge.

No assessment of the Community Capacity Map was made.

In the case of approval of the project, our tasks will include, for example, direct paid for writing of Wikipedia articles and organization of a competition in Wikimedia projects on the topic of health

Consideration of additional projects for individual education of VMEO activists and adult learners, with support from Erasmus+ (KA1)

due to insufficient interest and possibilities of VMEO activists, we decided in 2024 not to apply for a new similar project, and first to involve activists more
for the same reason we decided in 2024 not to apply for accreditation for KA1

Considerations for other Erasmus+ collaboration projects (KA2)

we considered, and discussed with potential partners, other collaboration projects, but the interest of potential partners was not sufficient
we explored a bit the possibility of doing a project for creating a system for Global Templates (as part of our Strategically Important Work). The level of management and financing of such a project currently exceeds our capacities, so in the near future we will not be able to lead this kind of project, but could eventually participate in it. After sufficient development of our capacities and in the event of great success in obtaining grants, we could lead such a project in several years.

Other projects

Activity for Slovakia

We focus on working with the Esperanto community. But with our strategic approach to ecosystem support, we are also working to support Slovakia, the country where we are officially registered.

In 2024 we mainly informed through the dedicated Facebook page (PreWiki.sk9) the Slovak-speaking public about important events through links to articles on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects. Our Facebook page was the most active Facebook page on Wikipedia in Slovak.

We also wrote a few articles on adult education for the EU portal EPALE.

We started planning to hold a community meeting or a joint-themed editing, but we didn't do it because of the busy schedule.

Information

In 2024 we informed the outside public mainly through our social networks (Facebook, Twitter/X) in our pages/accounts of VMEO, Wikipedia and Wikivoyage.

We planned to try to get our hands on long-unused social media accounts from Esperanto-language Wikimedia projects. But due to busy schedules, we didn't start working on it.

Due to a bug in our contact management system CiviCRM, we were unable to send mass messages from our website. Therefore, the newsletter update was not activated.

Stretch goals

ZEO-database

idea to create a database of ZEOs (Zamenhof/Esperanto objects) through the new installation of WikiBase (the same as Wikidata)

Organiza daŭropoveco

En 2024 ni sukcesis partopreni kelkajn lernajn okazaĵojn, precipe danke al malavara subteno de la programo Erasmus+ de la Eŭropa Komisiono.

Rekono kiel Vikimedia Tema organizo

Daŭrigo de nia peto de 2019. Tiam AffCom (la komisiono de la Fondaĵo Vikimedio, kiu respondeas pri tiaj rekonoj) ne havis sufiĉajn kapacitojn por plenumi la rekonon. Rekono de organizo kiel Tema organizo havas 3 ŝtupojn kaj laŭplane daŭras 4-6 monatojn por trairi ilin ĉiujn. En nia okazo, AffCom bezonis 7 monatojn kaj ne sukcesis fini eĉ la 1-an ŝtupon, nek iniciateme informi nin pri ties prokrasto. Nelonge poste AffCom paŭzis nian rekonan procezon, provizante diversajn kialojn dum malsamaj okazoj.

En 2024 ni ne iniciateme restarigis la rekonan procezon pro nia okupiteco.

Disvolvo de infrastrukturo

En 2024 ni laboris por restarigi nian projektan mastrumilon OpenProject. Tiu pasintece ege helpis al nia agado, sed post servilaj problemoj ĝi restas neatingebla. Ni provis migri niajn datumojn al Projektoj.org (nova reta projekta mastrumilo de TEJO por Esperantujo, ankaŭ funkcianta per OpenProject). Ni atingis partajn, sed nesufiĉajn, sukcesojn, kaj daŭrigos la laboron en 2025.

Pro nia okupiteco ni ne sukcesis trakti aliajn planitajn disvolvadojn de nia infrastrukturo.

Pro nia granda okupiteco ni ne sukcesis daŭrigi la planitajn agadojn por disvolvi niajn homajn rimedojn.

Subvenciataj projektoj por disvolviĝo

Dum la jaro 2024 ni finis la projekton Strategia disvolviĝo por subteno de Vikimedio subtenitan de Erasmus+ de la Eŭropa Komision, kiu celis plikapabligon de niaj aktivuloj. En la projektoj okazis pluraj ŝanĝoj, precipe iuj planitaj homoj ne plu povis partopreni.

Membro-varba kampanjo

En 2024 pro nia granda okupiteco ne okazis la planita membrovarba kampanjo. Por la kampanjo estis planita ankaŭ plibonigo de infrastrukturo, kiu devintus helpi al ni pri varbado.

Strategia sinteno

Strategia plano 2025-2026

La celo estis starigi longtempan strategian komisionon, kiu dum 2024 gvidus la laboron por verko de la Strategia plano 2025-2026 kun partopreno de pluraj membroj kaj aktivuloj de VMEO kaj de Vikimediaj komunumanoj. Pro nia granda okupiteco ni ne sukcesis komenci tiun ĉi laboron en 2024 kaj prokrastis verkon de la plano por komenco de 2025.

Kovilo por liber-kulturaj Esperantaj organizoj

Kiel ni informis en la Jara plano, por povi trakti Kovilon por liber-kulturaj Esperantaj organizoj, unue ni mem bezonas atingi pli altan nivelon de organiza daŭropoveco. Pro nia granda okupiteco ni ne povis trakti tiun bazan kondiĉon, do ni ankaŭ ne laboris pri la Kovilo.

Komuna preparado de gravaj dokumentoj

Pro nia granda okupiteco, gravaj dokumentoj estis denove preparitaj nur de kerna aktivulo, sen partopreno de membroj, aktivuloj kaj komunumanoj.

Disvolvo de dunga sistemo

En 2024 ni nek disvolvis nian dungan sistemon, nek dungis dungiton.

Restarigo de subvencioj de la Fondaĵo Vikimedio

Fondaĵo Vikimedio (VMF) portempe haltis subvenciojn por Michal Matúšov (nuntempa Prezidanto) pro lia malvolo solvi konfliktojn. Tio limigas nian agadon kaj niajn eblojn antaŭenigi la Vikimedian mision kaj tiel vundas la Vikimedian movadon. En 2024 ni celis solvi tiun ĉi konfiklton de VMF, laŭeble je struktura nivelo de VMF (aliokaze ĝi povus ree reaperadi en aliaj lokoj kaj tempoj).

Subvencioj de la Fondaĵo Vikimedio en 2024 ne estis nia prioritato, do ni ne laboris por restarigi ilin.

Ekologia daŭropoveco

Ni daŭrigis nian organizan kutimon de uzado precipe de surteraj veturiloj por niaj vojaĝoj, kaj servado de vegetaraj kaj veganaj manĝaĵoj.

Tamen, ni ne formaligis tiujn ĉi kaj aliajn kutimojn kaj praktikojn.

Pro nia granda okupiteco ni ne traktis eblon enkonduki tutmonde validan kalendaron.
